Each week former SurvivorNZ player Shannon Quinn and Survivor super-fan Ryan Brink will go head to head ranking each players likelihood of being voted out in the next episode from safest to most in danger.
The Rulebook: To play this game and for those of you following along, we will be using the traditional Gordon Holmes Power Rankings system to determine the winner. The ranking of the person who is voted out of the next episode will determine the number of points the players will earn.
Note:We rank our players from who we believe is least likely to most likely to be sent home that episode. These are not ranking of who we believe is going to win.
Current standings after Week 6. Dylan Eliminated/JT Medical Evacuation.
Shannon – 99 Points (+21)
Ryan – 93 Points (+20)
Lisa’s game is going pretty much to plan so far. Even playing it so well and unthreatening that Brad believes she ‘doesn’t want to win’?!? She may have more of the spotlight on her this week but I still feel like Lisa is about to come out and dominate this merge, especially with her advantage in hand and mad puzzle skills. You go girl, GET ‘EM.
Tara seems super lovely but in terms of her game she’s still pretty MEH for me… She’s in a great spot now though; she’s a part of the majority alliance but isn’t one of the threatening players. So if anything goes wrong on the old KK side come tribal, I don’t think there’s any threat of old Chani writing Tara anyway.
Tess has stayed strong throughout and looks to be in a good spot still. She could potentially be seen as a threat soon but I think there’s bigger fish to fry this week so she should be safe.
Dave will definitely be seen as a threat at the merge but I don’t think he’ll be targeted before Arun. He also has Matt potentially as an inside man, which is super vital for him now that he also holds an idol. If Matt can give him a heads up on when the votes are heading his way then he could have the power to turn the game on it’s head.
Brad will be a super threatening player come merge, so he’s bound to end up with a pretty obvious target on his back. BUT he does have a seemingly strong alliance AND a handy little idol in his pocket for back-up…. He’s up against some pretty crafty players though so he’ll have to realise when to use it.
Adam I believe is a brilliant social player, much more than we’re being shown. He somehow ended up in all strategic chats on Chani even though he was also in the minority and no one even considered voting for him even though he looked like a pretty tempting choice to me? That in mind I think he’ll be able to work this new mix to his advantage and keep himself out of the spotlight this week (plus that’s bound to be easier now that his arch-nemesis is gone).
Matt has been such an enigma for me, I really don’t know who he will end up with and he’s never truly seemed safe. He’ll be a pretty big threat in challenges, and he’s probably one of the only KK originals that I could imaging flipping…. So really he could end up anywhere! But I don’t think anyone will target him just yet.
Eve should have a moment to breathe now that she’s back with a few more numbers surrounding her, but unless there’s a bit of a mix up she’ll be back in the hot seat soon enough. I think she’ll be ok this week, but there’s always the risk of votes heading her way if they plan on the chance of an idol appearing.
Renee has really started to pick up her game these past few episodes so I’m interested to see what she’ll do now that we’ve hit the merge. I think she’s under considerable threat however as she’ll probably be viewed as more of a strategic threat than Eve. She may have a chance to hang in longer if her chats with Adam have had any effect.
Arun is in REAL trouble this week. It appears pretty obvious to everyone now that Arun had full control on Chani and is also willing to play a strong, strategic game. He’s also a huge strength in challenges – KK would be crazy not to target him. That strength in challenges may be his only saving grace if he can get his hands on that individual immunity idol.
RYAN: Week 7 Recap
Houdini himself, Matt has somehow made it to the merge and the entire chess board has opened up in front of him. He has relationships with literally every person remaining in the game and has his secret alliance with Dave still in tact. The post merge will be heavily dictated by where Matt lands next week. Either way he will be in a strong positions socially, strategically and in the challenges. My post merge winners pick to take out the crown.
#2 Adam: (SNAKE OF THE WEEK)
If it looks like a snake, slithers like a snake, it’s a Snake! Adam is living up to that billing of being the real villain this season. Now his arch nemesis is gone, i’m hoping we see sassy Adam back. Adam is in a great position at the merge. Like Matt he has multiple options, has built a strong connection with Renee and now has the ability to reconnect with Tess. The only reason I don’t have Adam at one is his tongue. Fierce and deadly when talking about bottom feeders, it could come back to bite you as we get deeper into the game.
After 3-weeks being my Number 1 i’m moving Tess slightly down the board, but that has more to do with the relationships of Matt and Adam, not anything negatively Tess is doing. Her relationship with Brad has grown and i’m interested to see how she reconnects with Adam at the merge. A deadly duo indeed.
At this point of the game, Tara has done nothing to impact her position in the game. At this point she would be the ideal person to sit next to at the end. A lovely person, but i’m unsure what she is doing game wise. I’m excited to see her come to life at the merge.
Lisa knows she holds the dreaded vote steal/double vote. The curse of her idol Stephen Fishbach would be ringing in her mind. Reverse the curse and her game is in great shape, long term. Misplay it and she could write her name into the folklore of Survivor history.
Brad is in a great position in this game, but with Josh gone, he is the visible leader of original KhangKhaw. He has the idol in his pocket and the only way he likely goes is if Matt and Adam stick with Chani.
ReeRee it’s time to shine. I’m hoping she plays hard and looks to build on her relationship with Adam to avoid the Chani pagonging and make her mark on the game.
The merge should save Eve from the brink of elimination this week. There are bigger players left in the game. At this point, Eve’s best strategy might be to become a complete non factor and non threat and hope by the time KhangKhaw realise 6 does not go into 3, that she can become a valuable asset in this game.
Dave I hope your relationship with Matt is really, really strong. I fear last weeks move was a huge mistake and even if you want to keep Matt, Adam is the logical alternate. If he and Arun do have Matt and Adam, he is making top 5. If not he could be using his idol to save himself as quickly as this week.
#10 Arun: Arun. You had been playing so well up until last week. Arun is the visible threat and leader of Chani at the merge. He is the typical merge boot. My fingers are crossed Dave uses his idol or his trust in Matt and Adam was justified all along.
