Each week former SurvivorNZ player Shannon Quinn and Survivor super-fan Ryan Brink will go head to head ranking each players likelihood of being voted out in the next episode from safest to most in danger.
The Rulebook: To play this game and for those of you following along, we will be using the traditional Gordon Holmes Power Rankings system to determine the winner. The ranking of the person who is voted out of the next episode will determine the number of points the players will earn.
Note: We rank our players from who we believe is least likely to most likely to be sent home that episode. These are not ranking of who we believe is going to win.
Current standings after Week 6. Dylan Eliminated/JT Medical Evacuation.
Shannon – 109 Points (+10)
Ryan – 103 Points (+10)SHANNON:
Adam’s social game just gets better and better, he has so many options to work with and has such a knack at getting people on his side and trusting him. I’m hoping he sticks with Renee and starts mixing things up this week!
No change…. Still ‘Meh’…..Still safe. Right now she’s the perfect person to sit next to at the end.
Tess’ relationship with Brad has finally been noticed, luckily for her she seems to have a plan B already in place in the form of Lisa and Tara. Until Brad is out of the picture I don’t think Tess will become much of a target, especially considering her alliance with Adam (at least until that trust runs out).
I’m so glad that Lisa is kicking it up a notch and already getting her targets in order. She still has plenty of time to earn that final 3 spot and I think that her current plan of action will definitely put her in the right direction. Also now that she doesn’t have her advantage looming over her head, I think a lot of the heat will be off her.
Bold play by Renee this week, I can fully understand her wanting to be on the side with the numbers though and pave her own path. I don’t think she’s 100% safe yet but she’s definitely opened up her options and is ready to play.
Matt is in a great position; he could really work with anyone – he just needs to make sure that he chooses wisely because I’m sure they’ll come for him soon. He seems the most likely to go on an immunity winning streak, but that also makes him a huge threat to everyone else so he better not miss a step.
I think everyone is beginning to realise that they don’t want to be sitting near Brad towards the end, and that the best chance of getting him out would be sooner rather than later – so I’ve dropped him down a notch this week because the heat is on. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a hold of individual immunity, if that fails he also has his handy idol, if he knows when to use it….
Dave could potentially be a big target this week considering he was only the wrong side of the vote and has been a strong physical threat throughout. However, if he feels threatened at all I’m sure that his idol will make an appearance, otherwise he’ll need to hope that his old bud Matt trusts him now that Arun is gone.
First of all… SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW EVE’S HAIR STILL LOOKS SO AMAZING?!? Mine was a permanent knot by this point. In terms of game-play, Eve has seemed unwilling to mingle and it’s put her in a dangerous position this week. I still have hope that she can pull something out of the bag now that options have run out, but she’s definitely not looking comfortable.
RYAN: Help me decide the snake of the week on INSTAGRAM @BrinkOfReality between Adam and Matt.
Week 8 Recap
#1 Adam: (AK’s Snake of the Week)
Adam throwing shade all day! He continues to position himself in an excellent position. He has connections with everyone and is making moves without getting blood on his hands. He has options everywhere this week and can decide whether to maintain the status quo or make a big move if needed. I’m keen to watch his relationship with Tess this week.
Tess has been sitting pretty for the majority of the game. It was interesting to see how close Brad and Tess have grown over the past few episodes. Adam not fully letting her in on his strategy was the first chink in her armour. I want to see Tess make a game decision. She has been hidden deep within her 90210 clique the entire game. It’s time to make your move.
WHO IS TARA? 8 episodes in and all I know is that Tara is part of the majority Khang Khaw alliance. I can’t even tell you were she sits within that alliance and who she trusts the most. :S For this reason and complete lack of edit, I don’t think she is being eliminated any time soon. We need more #TaraTime on our screens!
Lisa you reversed the curse. Hallelujah! Her edit ramped up this week and I loved that she recognised that she can’t go to the end with the bigger players in the game and win. It is Lisa’s time to use her knowledge of the game to position herself in the best position to win moving forward. I think she sticks to the anyone but me strategy again this week.
#5 Matt: (Ryan’s SNAKE OF THE WEEK)
Matt took control of his game this week and has put himself in a really strong position. He mentioned previously that he could not trust Dave fully while Arun was in the game. Now he is gone it will be interesting to see whether he can use Dave as a number, or whether he will have to let him go. I loved his confessional foreshadowing taking the game into his own hands and doing anything to win. Matt’s post merge winner vibe continues to grow. I only have him so low as he could be a target if original Khang Khaw decide to flip the game on its head.
Brad’s biggest issue is that everyone knows he has an idol and is being openly discussed as the leader of original Khang Khaw even at the merge, it makes him a potential target of Dave’s idol this week. His relationship with Tess is dangerous to both Adam and Matt who may see Tess as a key ally for themselves. I think he is safe potentially until at least 7.
Yeeeeeees! I like that Renee took control of her own game this week. She is a highly capable player who is able to make the moves she needs to position herself in a strong position to win. I think her alliance with Adam is pivotal and one that will allow her to get deeper into this game. The only reason I have her lower at this point is out of fear of retribution from the remaining Chani.
More than ever, the advantage of knowing someone prior to playing is saving Dave’s skin this week. The ability to save his idol knowing he was safe last week was a huge advantage no one else in his position would have. I don’t want to discredit Dave’s game because I think he is playing well and I personally like him, but the deeper he goes into this game, the bigger the asterisks next to his name grows. This is the week Dave needs to use that idol to survive. Who will Dave target with his idol?
Prayer may be all you have left… Sadly I’m forced to place lovely Eve at the bottom of my power rankings this week. Solely because she has run out of numbers from her original Chani who are alternative options. I really like Eve and think she has a strong game in her. The loss of JT and the continual whittling down of Chani has left her in huge danger. My fingers are crossed and Coach prayer circles are activate for a miracle. With Daves idol in play, it is almost a certainty they split the vote and she is sent packing this week.
