Each week former SurvivorNZ player Shannon Quinn and Survivor super-fan Ryan Brink will go head to head ranking each players likelihood of being voted out in the next episode from safest to most in danger.
The Rulebook: To play this game and for those of you following along, we will be using the traditional Gordon Holmes Power Rankings system to determine the winner. The ranking of the person who is voted out of the next episode will determine the number of points the players will earn.
Note: We rank our players from who we believe is least likely to most likely to be sent home that episode. These are not ranking of who we believe is going to win.
Current standings after Week 6. Dylan Eliminated/JT Medical Evacuation.
Shannon – 128 Points (+6)
Ryan – 121 Points (+4)
Still being an informed observer at this point, which is a pretty good place to be while the top dogs scrap it out. I still can’t pinpoint where he sees himself in the tribe and who he would like to take to the end (though obviously NOT Dave), he’s stayed loyal to Tess but I wonder if that will last. As Eve pointed out last tribal (RIP Eve); he seems to have a lot of influence over everyone in the tribe but no one has really clocked onto that yet and seen him as a threat, it’s a great place to be moving forward.
Even though she’s rubbed a few people the wrong way it sounds like there’s already a couple of people planning to have Tara joining them in the top 3 as a classic goat. I can see she really does want to play the game and would probably be open to making a few big moves so I hope she steps it up a notch ASAP and proves them all wrong. Either way she’s looking pretty safe this week, bigger fish to fry.
LAST CHANI STANDING! Considering all of his original alliances have bitten the dust I’d say Dave has done pretty well to land himself in this spot (insert argument about prior friendship here). His path to the top 3 has never looked so good thanks to his giant balls of steel, if he gets immunity this week he’ll be sailing. His difficulty will be that apart from Matt it doesn’t look like he has that many people left who are on his side, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was pipped at the post.
The puppet master, but everyone is just dying to cut the strings! All his challenge wins have been great at the time but have made him a huge target if he drops one now, at least he’s got his trusty idol to see him through (or is it Lisa’s idol now??) this week may be a good time to bring that baby out. He’s got a hard 3 tribals to get through, but he’s got great social and strategic skills AND he just looks like a Sole Survivor, doesn’t he?!?
It looks as if all of Lisa’s hard work may be imploding around her this week! But full credit to her; that reasoning with Matt about their ‘shared’ idol took a lot of guts and brains, and seemed to work maybe?? Lisa has the best self-awareness of her position in the game and the steps she needs to follow to make it to the end, but it all depends on the others sharing her view and I just don’t know whether they’re going to be game enough. She’s also gotten herself in pretty deep strategy wise and it’s going to be hard to get out now if things go wrong! not miss.
Tess hasn’t changed much since last week for me, still seems to have the same alliances (a.k.a. Adam) and not a lot else going on, I need to hear more! Her best chance this week is to really work at targeting the big players and get everyone on board, union style. It may be too little too late now though, she’s looking like an easy target if the majority just want to get through one more tribal before making the really big decisions.
DEAD TO US – EVE CLARKE
RYAN: Hey lovely people. Due to some personal family issues i’ve only released an exit interview this week. Give it a listen to hear my thoughts.
Adam continues to be involved in the strategic conversations, but seems to be avoiding getting blood on his hands. His indecision this week I feel could come back to haunt him moving forward. I understand not making a move because you don’t trust Eve. But the Golden Goose had his head in the guillotine. If you don’t want to be told how to vote, start making the decision yourself.
Dave is a man with 9 lives. Having an idol this deep into the game and a trusted relationship with Matt, there would have to be a monumental shift in this game for Dave to go this week.
Lisa is in a difficult position. I fear the edit of Laurel is coming with Lisa. If she does not make a move this week she will likely be a 0 vote finalist. It’s time to make your move.
Tara has confidence in her game, but the camera is not highlighting the reasons for this confidence. I don’t see how Tara can convince others she should be sole Survivor at the end.
Matt is in a dangerous position despite having the idol. He is perceived at the biggest threat to win this game and Lisa was actively looking to take him out last week. If he can neutralise Lisa this week, he is a strong chance to win this game.
#6 – Tess
Tess has been delightful on screen. Her rapid switch from power position to the bottom has been great TV. She is the logical next person out based on how the alliances are shaking up. My biggest question is can Adam sway the numbers to save his key ally, or will he leave her to swim with the fishes?
